Reduce the load on the brake system:
due to an excessive load placed
on it.

Overheating of the brake sys-
tem will shorten the service life
of the brake disks. The brake
disks could fail. Have the brake
disks checked at a qualified
specialist workshop, e.g. an
SLR Service Centre.
Practical advice
Display messages
Drive with even greater care.
Use the engine brake more frequently. Select a lower
gear for this ( page 146).
Continue driving carefully to allow the airflow to cool the
brakes.
The message goes out after driving carefully for a few
minutes.
