Batteries

Your vehicle is equipped with two batter-
ies.
Starter battery in the boot
Consumer battery in the boot

You must not jump start the vehicle, other-
wise the vehicle electrical systems could be
damaged.
The batteries must always be sufficiently
charged so that they achieve their intend-
ed service life. A flat battery must be fully
recharged.
Have the battery charge checked more fre-
quently if you use the vehicle mainly for
short trips or if you leave it parked up for a
lengthy period.
Only have the batteries replaced with bat-
teries which have been approved for
Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Have this work
carried out at a qualified specialist work-
shop, e.g. at any SLR Service Centre.
If you wish to leave your vehicle parked up
for a long period, seek advice from your
PLM or from a SLR Service Centre.
Risk of injury
Take safety precautions and protective
measures when handling batteries.
Risk of explosion
Fire, naked flames and smoking
are prohibited when handling
the battery. Avoid creating
sparks.
Battery acid is caustic. Avoid
contact with the skin, eyes or
clothing.
Wear suitable protective cloth-
ing, in particular gloves, apron
and safety mask.
Wear eye protection.

Immediately rinse acid splashes
off with clean water. Consult a
doctor if necessary.
Keep children away.
