SBC Stop

SBC Stop can help reduce the strain on the
driver when driving in traffic jams:
When the accelerator pedal is released,
the vehicle is continuously braked until
it comes to a complete stop.
Once the vehicle has come to a com-
plete stop, it is kept stationary without
the driver having to depress the brake
pedal.
The braking effect is removed when the
accelerator pedal is depressed as the
vehicle pulls away.

Risk of accident
SBC Stop does not take into account any
obstacles or the distance to the vehicle in
front. You must apply the brakes yourself to
maintain sufficient distance and to avoid
driving to closely behind the vehicle in front.
SBC Stop does not take road conditions into
account. Therefore do not use SBC Stop on
icy roads, for example.
The cruise control lever is used to operate:
Cruise control ( page 159)
Variable Speedtronic ( page 163)
SBC Stop
The cruise control lever is the uppermost
lever on the left of the steering wheel
( page 40). The LIM indicator lamp on the
cruise control lever indicates which sys-
tem you have selected:
Cruise control, SBC Stop:
LIM indicator lamp off
Variable Speedtronic:
LIM indicator lamp lit
