Insert rear pin 5 into the rear
recess 6 in the direction of arrow.
Close tensioning lever 1.
The centre spar is locked.

The tensioning lever can not be closed un-
less the centre spar is properly installed.

Risk of accident
If the centre spar is not properly locked, it
could come loose while driving and you
could cause an accident.
Therefore, make sure that the centre spar is
properly locked.
Proceed in reverse order to remove the
centre spar.
When not installed, always put the centre
spar in the provided stowage bag. This
does also apply when transporting the cen-
tre spar in the boot, for example.

Make sure the centre spar is clean and dry
before inserting it in the stowage bag. Otherwise
paintwork damage may occur.
Tonneaux

The tonneaux are located in the boot
( page 189).
The following describes the installation of
the passenger-side tonneau. The installa-
tion of the driver's side tonneau is identical
but mirror-inverted.
Prior to installing or removing the ton-
neaux open the door on the respective
side.
Install the centre spar ( page 184).

The tonneau seals must be dry and free
from dirt and debris before installing the ton-
neaux. Otherwise paintwork damage may occur.
