Speedtronic

Speedtronic is used to ensure that you do
not exceed the set speed. You can set a
variable or permanent limit speed:
Variable
for speed limits, e.g. in
built-up areas
Permanent
for long-term speed restric-
tions, e.g. for driving on win-
ter tyres
Risk of accident
Speedtronic is only an aid designed to assist
driving. You are responsible for the vehicle's
speed and for braking in good time.

The speed indicated in the speedometer
may differ slightly from the limit speed set.
You can change the unit for the speed display us-
ing the on-board computer ( page 132).

The cruise control lever is used to operate:

SBC Stop ( page 168)
The cruise control lever is the uppermost
lever on the left of the steering wheel. The
LIM indicator lamp on the cruise control le-
ver indicates which system you have se-
lected:
Cruise control, SBC Stop:
LIM indicator lamp off
Variable Speedtronic:
LIM indicator lamp lit
You can set any limit speed using the
cruise control lever when the engine is run-
ning, as along as the speed is above
20 mph (30 km/h).
