Air Duct Removal / Installation

Required Tools and Supplies
• Anti-static wrist strap and conductive workbench pad (recommended)
The Intel® Server System M50CYP2U family has three types of air ducts. The type used depends on the
processor heat sink and add-in cards installed in the system:
• Standard air duct for processor heat sink with 2U height
•
Standard air duct for processor heat sink with 1U height
• General Purpose Graphics Processing Unit (GPGPU) air duct for processor heat sink with 1U height
Note: Always operate the server system with the air duct in place. The air duct is required for proper airflow
within the server system.
