Intel® Server System M50CYP2UR Family System Integration and Service Guide
The following procedure should be followed when installing data cables from a backplane to a PCIe* or
SAS/SATA source.
1. If installed, removed the system fan assembly (see
2. Locate the PCIe* SlimSAS or SAS/SATA cable that supports the desired NVMe or SAS/SATA drive
configuration and signal source.
3. Attach one end of the cable to the matching PCIe*_SSD SlimSAS or SAS/SATA connectors on the
backplane.
4. All cables, except the cables routed to the server board SlimSAS connectors, are routed to the nearest
chassis sidewall. The cables routed to the server board SlimSAS connectors are routed beneath the
system fan assembly.
5. Connect the other end of the PCIe* SlimSAS or SAS/SATA cable to the appropriate signal source (server
board or optional sources).
6. If no more cables are to be installed, reinstall the system fan assembly (See

Required Tools and Supplies
Anti-static wrist strap and conductive workbench pad (recommended)

Locate the battery on the server board (see

Gently press the metal clip as shown to release the battery (see Letter A).

Remove the battery from the plastic socket (see Letter B).

Dispose of the battery according to local laws.

Remove the new lithium battery from its package and, being careful to observe the correct polarity,
insert it into the battery socket.

12. Use the <F2> BIOS Setup Utility to restore BIOS Settings and reset the system time and date.
