XT Series automatically adapts its behavior to interoperate with the 3CX server.
• This automatic adaption is based on searching for the default 3CX product strings in SIP
messages. If the default 3CX product strings are changed, this mechanism does not work. In
this case, you should manually specify the "3CX" server-type in the SIP setting
• If the 3CX SIP module is listening to different legacy ports (5060,5061), the XT Series can set
the specific port. It adds it to the server address in the SIP server configuration field.
Example: "3CX_address;3CX_port"
Basic SIP Features
The XT Series supports the following SIP transport types: UDP, TCP, TLS.
The XT Series supports Media Encryption using SRTP via in-SDP (SDES) with the following
algorithms:
• AES_256_CM_HMAC_SHA1_80
• AES_CM_128_HMAC_SHA1_80
The supported audio/video/data codecs depend on the 3CX media server modes used for the call
connection. With Bypass - Direct Mode, there is no limitations. With Proxy - Pass Through Mode
and Transcoding - Bound Mode, the following limitations exist:
• Reduced audio codecs list: Opus, G.722, G.711, G.729A, DTMF-RFC2833;
• The XT Series does not support far end camera control (FECC).
• The XT Series does not support content sharing.
If the system has the local Do Not Disturb option active or rejects an incoming call using the Do
Not Disturb option, the remote automatically redirects to voice mail.
When you enable encryption on the used extension (RTP mode is set to allow secure or only
secure), direct mode is never used. As a result, FECC and Content Sharing are not available
during encrypted calls.
The Media Server Mode chosen by 3CX server depends on these factors:
• The network path between the connected entities
server/)
• The configuration parameters of the connected extensions.
For example, direct mode is never used for the specific extension if one of these conditions is true:
• RTP mode is set to allow secure or only secure.
• PBX Delivers Audio is enabled.
Limitations
A provisioning service between the 3CX server and the XT Series device is not supported. You
must manually configure it.
Here are the parameters that you must obtain from the 3CX extension and configure in the XT
Series:
• from the General tab of the 3CX extension:
- User Information – Extension: Administrator Settings – Protocols – SIP – User
