• Room resource and delegate account mode: Use this mode to create a room resource
associated with your endpoint. You can add the endpoint as a room resource to the meeting.
You can create a delegate account to be able to see the room calendar. This mode requires
IT Administrator access to the Microsoft Exchange server to create room resources and one
or more delegate accounts.
A standard Microsoft Outlook account has an email address and a password. A room resource
account only has an email address and no password. To access a room calendar, a delegate
standard account is required.
In order to retrieve a calendar, the XT Series must be able to access the EWS Address over the
Internet or on a private network. Your IT Administrator must enable this service.
Your company network, including firewalls and proxies, must allow a HTTPS connection from the
XT Series endpoint to the Microsoft Exchange server address (on premise or in the cloud).
Retrieving your EWS address
Your XT Series can integrate with a Microsoft Outlook calendar using Microsoft Exchange Web
Services (EWS). In order to retrieve a calendar, the XT Series must be able to access the EWS
address over the Internet or on a private network. Your IT Administrator must enable this service.
Your company network, including firewalls and proxies, must allow a HTTPS connection from the
XT Series endpoint to the Microsoft Exchange server address (on premises or in the cloud).
• If your Microsoft Exchange server is based on Microsoft Office365, you do not need to
retrieve the EWS. Instead, you can leave the Exchange Server Address as blank.
• If your Microsoft Exchange server is not based on Microsoft Office365, you must retrieve the
EWS. For more information about retrieving your EWS, see the Release Notes for Avaya XT
Series on https://support.avaya.com/.
You can retrieve your EWS address from Microsoft Exchange Online by accessing the Microsoft
Outlook Web application (OWA) and navigating to the account settings. You can retrieve your
EWS address from an on-premise deployment of Microsoft Exchange using the following syntax:
https://<EXCHANGE_SERVER_HOSTNAME>/EWS/Exchange.asmx to query the FQDN of your
EWS service using the Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory |Select name, *url* |
fl command.
Alternatively, you can use the Microsoft Exchange Management Shell by entering the FQDN to
obtain the EWS address. If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2013 or higher, the EWS address is
displayed below the Access this account on the web field on the Account Information dialog.
Setting up a delegate account for a room
If you are implementing Room resource and delegate account mode for your calendar
integration, you must set up a room resource account and provide visibility of this room resource
account to a delegate standard account. A room resource account only has an email address and
no password. To access a room calendar, a delegate standard account is required.
For more information, see the official Microsoft documentation at
Exchange/.
