Advanced Configuration of the XT Series
With Microsoft Office365
Before you configure calendar integration on your XT Series. Ensure that your IT administrator:
• Creates a dedicated user in Microsoft Office365 who can manage calendars.
• Creates or locates a calendar resource for each room.
• Enables the dedicated user to have full delegate access to each calendar resource.
• Enables the dedicated user to edit each calendar resource.
• Updates the settings for each calendar resource using Windows PowerShell.
This final step, updating the settings for each calendar resource using Windows PowerShell, is
particularly important if you want a meeting marked as 'Private' in Microsoft Outlook to also appear
as a 'Private Meeting' in the XT Series endpoint calendar. For more information on the PowerShell
commands, see the Release Notes for Avaya XT Series on https://support.avaya.com/.
With Microsoft Exchange 2016
Before you configure calendar integration on your XT Series. Ensure that your IT administrator:
• Creates a dedicated user in Microsoft Exchange who can manage calendars.
• Creates or locates a calendar resource for each room.
• Enables the dedicated user to have full delegate access to each calendar resource.
• Enables the dedicated user to edit each calendar resource.
• Updates the settings for each calendar resource using Windows PowerShell.
You must enable basic authentican of NTLM authentication because the XT Series endpoint only
supports basic authentication for on-premise solutions such as Microsoft Exchange server.
The final step, updating the settings for each calendar resource using Windows PowerShell, is
particularly important if you want a meeting marked as 'Private' in Microsoft Outlook to also appear
as a 'Private Meeting' in the XT Series endpoint calendar. For more information on the PowerShell
commands, see the Release Notes for Avaya XT Series on https://support.avaya.com/.

Touchscreen support

The XT Series supports a touchscreen or mouse. In addition to the supplied remote control, you
can operate the Avaya XT Series endpoint with a standard touchscreen display. The display only
needs to be connected through HDMI and the USB interface to the endpoint. Avaya recommends
connecting the touchscreen through the lower USB slot of the endpoint. When you enable this
mode of operation, a white square cursor is displayed on the screen. In local presentation mode,
this cursor is hidden. When you press on a edit field, a simple keyboard is displayed on the
screen.
For the Avaya XTE240, touchscreen support is only available if the endpoint is configured as a
Standard Room Endpoint. When you connect a touchscreen display to your endpoint, ensure that
you use a standard multi-touch touchscreen monitor. The monitor must not require any driver
installation for the operating system. For a Personal/Shared Endpoint, you can use the Avaya
Collaboration Control application emulate the mouse and keyboard.
