6-9. Installation of the Tape Drive
1. Setting for installing the 4U drive
To install the 4U drive, change the height of the drive
stages.
Only the bottom drive stage or both of top and bottom
drive stages can be set for 4U drive.

When you want to change the setting of the top drive stage,
perform "3. Installing in the top stage of the drive stage"
(1) Remove the drive stage panel while referring to
Section 6-5.
(2) Remove the drive stage whose setting is to be changed
while referring to Section 6-5.
(3) Remove the four screws attached to the right and left
side panels on the bottom stage, and remove the two
standard plates (4U).

(4) Loosen the three screws and open the rear door.
RK4 x 20 (with drop-safe)
(5) Align the holes on the standard plates (4U) that were
removed in step 2 with the dowels (projected portions)
on the unit and attach the standard plates to the
position at the bin side with four screws as shown in
the figure.

When changing the setting of only the bottom stage, you
do not need to use one of the standard plates (4U). Store it
carefully.
