Side-to-Side Wander.
POSSIBLE
CAUSES
1) Incorrect tire pressure.
2) IncorrC!ct front wheel alignment.
3) Loose steering linkage connections.

REMEDIES
1) Check tire pressure and inflate to recommended values.
2) Check wheel alignment and adjust as specified on page 135.
3) Check, replace damaged parts and tighten nuts to recom.
mended torques.
4) Loose steering gear and/or idler arm support at
body mountings.
5) Incorrect fitting of steering worm to sector.
6) Distorted kingpin housing or control arms.
7) Semi-elliptic spring weakened or broken.
Loose Steering.
POSSIBLE
CAUSES
1) Incorrect front wheel bearing adjustment.
2) Loose steering linkage connections.
3) Incorrect adjustment of steering worm to sector.
Hard Turning when Stationary.
POSSIBLE
CAUSES
1) Incorrect tire pressure.
2) Incorrect adjustment of steering worm to sector.
4) Check all mounting nuts for tightness with recommended
torque.
5) Adjust steering gear as outlined on page 165.
6) Check kingpin housing and control arms on test equlpmen1
as shown under (( Front Suspension and Wheels)) and reo
place kingpin housing, if distorted, and control arms which
cannot be straightened correctly.
7) Check spring against data on page 128, and replace
if
dam-
aged or broken.
REMEDIES
1) Adjust as recommended on page 138.
2) Inspect, replace worn parts, if any, and tighten nuts to rec-
ommended torques.
3) Adjust steering gear as recommended on page 165.
REMEDIES
1) Check pressure of tires and inflate to recommended values.
2) Adjust steering gear as recommended on page 165.
