Evaporative Emission Canister Filter
Replacement
Removal Procedure
NOTE
The evaporative emission (EVAP) canister
filter cover must also be replaced when the
EVAP filter is replaced to ensure proper
operation of the EVAP canister.
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to "Lifting and
Jacking the Vehicle: ".
2. Remove the EVAP canister. Refer to "Evaporative
Emission Canister Replacement".
3. Carefully release the canister filter cover rear
retaining tabs.
4. Carefully release the canister filter cover forward
retaining tabs and remove the cover from the EVAP
canister.
5. Discard the EVAP canister filter cover.
6. Remove the filter from the canister and discard the
filter.
7. Clean the inside of the EVAP canister filter housing
with a clean shop towel.
Installation Procedure
1. Install a NEW filter to the canister filter housing.
NOTE
Ensure that the seal is properly seated in the
NEW EVAP filter cover.
2. Install a NEW EVAP filter cover to the EVAP canister.
3. Install the EVAP canister. Refer to "Evaporative
Emission Canister Replacement".
4. Lower the vehicle.
