STEP
4 1) With ignition switch OFF position, disconnect
negative cable at battery for 30 seconds and
connect it.
2) With ignition switch OFF position, install SUZU-
KI scan tool.
3) Turn ignition switch ON position, leaving engine
OFF.
4) Monitor closed throttle position ("CLOSE
THROT POS") parameter on SUZUKI scan
tool.
Does scan tool indicate "ON" when throttle valve is
fully closed and then "OFF" when throttle valve is
opened?
5 1) Perform "TP Sensor Inspection" in this section.
Is resistance within specified value?
6 1) With ignition switch OFF position, disconnect
ECM and IAC valve connectors.
2) Check "Or", "B/R", and "B/Bl" wire for open or
short.
Are they in good condition?
7 1) With ignition switch OFF position, substitute a
known-good IAC valve.
2) Perform "IAC Valve Inspection" in this section.
Is IAC valve in good condition?

YES
Recheck engine idle
speed.
Faulty "Gr/Y", "Lg/R" or
"Bl/Y" wire.
Poor connector connec-
tion.
If OK, substitute a
known-good ECM and
recheck.
Go to Step 7.
Faulty IAC valve.
NO
Go to Step 5.
Faulty TP sensor.
Faulty "Or", "B/R", "B/Bl"
wire.
Poor connection.
If OK, substitute a
known-good ECM and
recheck.
