Service Meter QoS Policy Commands
mbs
Syntax
mbs size-in-kbits
no mbs
Context
config>qos>sap-ingress>meter
This command provides the explicit definition of the maximum amount of tokens allowed for a specific
Description
meter. The value is given in Kilobits and overrides the default value for the context.
In case of trtcm, the maximum burst size parameter specifies the maximum burst size that can be transmitted
by the source at the PIR while complying with the PIR. If the transmitted burst is lower than the MBS value
then the packets are marked as out-profile by the meter to indicate that the traffic is not complying with CIR,
but complying with PIR.
In case of srTCM, the MBS parameter specifies the maximum burst size that can be transmitted by the
source while not complying with the CIR. The transmitted burst is lower than the MBS value then the
packets are marked as out-profile by the meter to indicate that the traffic is not complying with CIR.
If the packet burst is higher than MBS then packets are marked as red are dropped by the meter.
The no form of this command returns the MBS size assigned to the meter to the value.

This command defines the mode of the meter. The mode can be configured as Two Rate Three Color Marker
Description
(trTCM1) or Single Rate Three Color Marker (srTCM). The mode command can be executed at anytime.
Note:
1. The meter counters are reset to zero when the meter mode is changed.
2. For more information on the interpretation of rate parameters when the meter mode is configured as
"trtcm2", refer to the command description of the policer rate command.
The no form of the command sets the default mode trtcm1.
