A replacement Virtual Chassis module
NOTE:
You must remove the fan tray from the EX4500 switch before
installing the Virtual Chassis module. See
EX4500 Switch" on page
To install a Virtual Chassis module in the switch (see
Ensure that the switch is powered off:
1.
If you are using AC power:
If the AC power source outlet has a power switch, set it to the OFF (0) position.
If the AC power source outlet does not have a power switch, gently pull out the
male end of the power cord connected to the power source outlet.
If you are using DC power:
Open the input circuit breaker so that the cables will not become active during the
installation process.
If the fan tray has not been removed from the switch, remove it. See
2.

Attach the ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to the ESD

Loosen the captive screws on the front faceplate of the module using the screwdriver.

CAUTION:
Before you slide the Virtual Chassis module into the slot on the
switch chassis, ensure the module is aligned correctly. Misalignment might
cause the pins to bend, making the module unusable.
Using both hands, place the Virtual Chassis module in the empty slot and slide it in

Tighten the captive screws using the screwdriver.
