Condition
• Tyres show excess wear on
edge of tread
• Tyres show excess wear in cen-
ter of tread
• Other excessive tyre wear con-
cerns
• Wheel mounting is difficult
• Wheel rust or corrosion

Wheels and Tyres
Possible Sources
• Under-inflated tyres.
• Vehicle overloaded.
• High-speed cornering.
• Incorrect toe setting.
• Incorrect camber setting.
• Tyres over-inflated.
• Excessive acceleration or brak-
ing.
• Incorrect tyre pressure.
• Tyres need rotating.
• Front end out of alignment.
• Vehicle overloaded.
• Loose or leaking front suspen-
sion unit.
• Wheel bearings worn.
• Loose, worn or damaged
suspension components,
bushings and ball joints.
• Excessive lateral or radial run
out of wheel or tyre.
• Incorrect application or mis-
matched parts, including wheel
studs and nuts.
• Corroded, worn or damaged
parts.
• Poor maintenance.
Action
• ADJUST air pressure in tyres.
• CORRECT as necessary.
• CORRECT as necessary.
• SET toe to specification.
REFER to Section 204-00.
• ADJUST air pressure in tyres.
• CORRECT as necessary.
• ADJUST air pressure in tyres.
• ROTATE tyres.
• ALIGN front end.

• CHECK load specification
against workload requirement.
• TIGHTEN or INSTALL new
