occasionally for leaks, kinks or dents. If evidence of
dirt is found in the system or fuel filter during
disassembly, the pipe should be disconnected and

blown out. Check the fuel strainer on fuel gage sending
unit for damage, or omission.
The vapor pipe extends from the fuel gage sender
to the canister. However, it does not follow the same
route as the fuel feed pipe.
If replacement of a fuel feed pipe or vapor pipe
is required use brazed seamless steel tubing, meeting
GM Specification 123M, or its equivalent.
Under no conditions use copper or aluminum
tubing to replace steel tubing. Those materials do not
have satisfactory durability to withstand normal
vehicle vibrations and corrosion.
ACCELERATOR CONTROLS
The accelerator control system is cable type.
There are no linkage adjustments.
As there are no adjustments, the specific cable,
for each application must be used. Only the specific
replacement part will work.
When work has been performed on accelerator
controls, always check to ensure that all components
