Ground cable.
PCV from rocker arm cover.
Oil dip stick tube.
Plug wires and bracket.
Engine lift hook.
Rocker arm cover bolts.
Rocker arm cover.

If cover adheres to cylinder head, shear off by
bumping end of rocker arm cover with palm of
hand or rubber mallet. If cover still will not
release, CAREFULLY pry until loose. DO NOT
DISTORT SEALING FLANGE.
IK
Clean
Sealing surfaces on cylinder head and rocker arm
cover with degreaser.
[n^j Install or Connect
1. Place a 3mm diameter (1/8") dot of GM 1052917
RTV sealer, or equivalent, at the intake manifold
and cylinder head split line.
2. Rocker arm cover gasket, using care to line up
holes in the gasket with bolt holes in the cylinder
head.
3. Rocker arm cover and bolts. Torque to 10 N-m
(90 lb.in.).
4. Plug wires and bracket.
5. Oil dip stick tube.
6. PCV to rocker arm cover.
7. Ground cable.
8. Cruise control cable, if applicable.
9. Throttle and downshift cables, and bracket.
10. Vacuum boost line and tube.
11. Engine compartment lid (2 men) and both side
covers.
12. Negative battery cables.
Rear
4--H Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Bolt - torque reaction rod at cylinder head
bracket.
3. Swing torque reaction rod up and remove bolt
connecting cylinder head bracket to bracket at
front of engine.
4. Loosen lower bolt of torque reaction rod bracket
at front of engine.
Upper two bolts of torque reaction rod bracket at
front of engine.
Bolt-torque reaction rod bracket at cylinder
head/exhaust manifold connection.
Wiring harness (in covering sleeve) between
rocker arm cover and lower plenum.
Cover bolts.
Cover.

Important
If cover adheres to cylinder head, shear off by
bumping end of rocker arm cover with palm of
hand or rubber mallet. If cover still will not
