NOTICE: All brake attaching fasteners are important attaching parts in that they could affect the performance of vital parts
and systems, and/or could result in major repair expense. They must be replaced with one of the same part number or with an
equivalent part if replacement becomes necessary. Do not u s e a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design.
Torque values must be used a s specified during reassembly to assure proper retention of parts.
C A U T I O N : W h e n s e r v i c i n g brake p a r t s , d o not c r e a t e dust by grinding, s a n d i n g brake linings, or by c l e a n i n g brake
parts with a dry b r u s h o r with c o m p r e s s e d air. Many brake parts contain a s b e s t o s fibers w h i c h c a n b e c o m e airborne if
dust i s c r e a t e d during s e r v i c i n g . B r e a t h i n g d u s t containing a s b e s t o s fibers may c a u s e s e r i o u s bodily h a r m . A water
d a m p e n e d cloth or water b a s e d solution s h o u l d b e u s e d to r e m o v e any d u s t o n brake parts. E q u i p m e n t i s c o m m e r -
cially available to perform this w a s h i n g function. T h e s e wet m e t h o d s will prevent a s b e s t o s fibers from b e c o m i n g
airborne.
