Negative battery cable
Two (2) screws retaining steering wheel pad
Horn lead for steering wheel pad
Steering shaft lock knob bolt positioning screws
Steering shaft lock knob bolt from steering shaft
Retainer from steering shaft
Steering wheel nut
Install BT-61-9 and remove steering wheel.

Align mark on the steering shaft with mark on
the steering wheel and install steering wheel and
nut.

• Steering wheel nut to 41 N-m (30 lbs. ft.).
Install or Connect
Steering wheel nut retainer.
3. Steering shaft lock knob bolt positioning screws
180° apart.
4. Steering shaft lock knob bolt.
5. Horn lead to steering wheel pad.
6. Two (2) screws retaining wheel pad
7 Negative battery cable
Steering Wheel Nut 41 N-m (30 Lbs. Ft.)

4--»| Remove or Disconnect
Position intermediate shaft seal for access to
lower pinch bolt. Locate steering wheel in
position to allow access to pinch bolt through the
engine compartment
Pinch bolt at rack and pinion stub shaft
Left I.P. sound insulator
Reposition intermediate shaft seal to gain access
to upper intermediate shaft pinch bolt
Pinch bolt and disconnect intermediate shaft at
the steering column
Intermediate shaft
Install or Connect
Position intermediate shaft
Upper pinch bolt
l i p Tighten
• Pinch bolt to 52N«m (39 lbs. ft.)
Pinch bolt at rack and pinion stub shaft
