4. Repair Information

This section contains the removal and replacement procedures for select parts of the
printer Envelope Feeder, Duplex Unit, Mailbox, and High Capacity Feeder.

Preparation

Before you begin any Removal and Replacement Procedure:

Work Notes

When working on a service check, ignore any prerequisite service check if you have
already performed that removal procedure.
WARNING: Always use the correct type and size screw. Using the wrong screw can
damage tapped holes. Do not use excessive force to either remove or install either a
screw or a printer part.
CAUTION: Unplug the AC power cord from the AC wall outlet before removing any
printer part.
Notations in the Removal and Replacement text
4025 Options
Switch OFF the printer power and disconnect the power cord from the AC wall outlet.
Wear an electrostatic discharge wrist strap to help prevent damage to the sensitive
electronics of the printer PWBs.
Wait at least 30 minutes after you have switched OFF printer power for the Fuser to
cool before you work on or around the Fuser.
Locations, such as R or right, given in the removal and replacements assume you
are facing the printer console panel.
The notation "rear" of a component, in place or removed, refers to the surface of the
component that is, when installed, faces the rear of the print engine.
The notation "front" of a component refers to the surface of the component that is, if
installed, faces the front of the print engine.
The notation "(Figure x)" points to the illustration that corresponds to the Removal
and Replacement Procedure you are performing.
Bold arrows in an illustration show direction of movement when removing or
replacing a component.
Callouts in an illustration point to the specific removal and replacement component
and also to associated and adjacent components that are related to the removal and
replacement of the specific component.
