determine which computer on your network is processing a request for an
Internet connection, use the Broadband Monitor. The event messages will
provide information about which computer is causing the Router to dial and
which service (port#) the computer is requesting.
Problem: The "Please set the Device IP" screen displays when configuring the
Router.
Solution: This system detects that the Router's LAN Ethernet IP address is not in
the same subnet as the PCs. Use Broadband Manager to set the Router's IP address
to the same network as your PC's.
Problem: A message indicates that the IP address you have inputted is either not
valid on your network or is in conflict with another IP address.
Solution: The manager has detected that the IP address of the Router you are
configuring is in conflict with another device. Power off the conflicting device and
configure the Router using a different Ethernet LAN IP address.
10.2 Calling Black Box
If you determine that your Router is malfunctioning, do not attempt to alter or
repair the unit. It contains no user-serviceable parts. Contact Black Box at 724-746-
5500.

provide more efficient and accurate assistance if you have a complete description,
including:
• the nature and duration of the problem.
• when the problem occurs.
• the components involved in the problem.
• any particular application that, when used, appears to create the problem or
make it worse.
