You can install DIMMs of any size in any of the three
banks.
♦
The BIOS detects the size and type of installed
memory.
♦
For ECC operation to be available, all installed
memory must be ECC and you must enable the ECC
Configuration feature in the Setup program.

To install DIMMs, follow these steps:
1. Observe the precautions in 'Before You Begin'
(Chapter 2).
2. Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the
computer.
3. Turn off the computer and remove the power cable.
4. Remove the computer top and access covers.
5. Holding the DIMM by the edges, remove it from its
antistatic package.
6. Make sure the clips at either end of the socket are
pushed away from the socket.
