– Remove complete variator assembly.
– Remove gearbox shafts.

Note:
To avoid damaging the sealing face, lay an old gas-
ket beneath support plate.
•
Remove grooved ball bearing with
puller, BMW No. 11 7 550.
When installing:
e
Caution:
Grease seats of shafts.
e
Caution:
The open side of the bearing must face inward.

Lightly oil outside circumference of grooved ball
bearing and press into housing with mandrel,
D = 40 mm (1.575 in) h = 170 mm (6.693 in) or
30 mm socket, until seated.

Shaft seats ........................Klüber paste 46 MR 401
