For the sake of clarity, these illustrations show the
vehicle with the drive swinging arm removed.
When installing:
•
Install the cylinder head cover before installing
the drive swinging arm.

Caution:
When installing, note the correct positions of the
spring struts.

Note:
Make sure the long lever of the parking mechanism
latches. If necessary, move the lever to the drive po-
sition first, and then move it to the park position.
•
Remove screws securing valve cover.
•
Turn engine by turning camshafts until tips of
cam lobes point outwards.
•
Use a coloured marker to mark the TDC mark (ar-
row) on the inlet camshaft gear.
•
Check valve clearance and make a note of the
readings.
•
Secure crankshaft at TDC.

Note:
The fastener for the chain guide is secured with
thread-locking compound.
•
Remove fasteners securing chain guide rail and
remove chain guide rail.
