Checking Individual Components Of Driving Variator; Checking Rollers - BMW C1 Repair Manual

•
Check friction faces of both side plates for wear
and damage.
•
Check with a precision straightedge and feeler
gauge.
•
Check inside diameter of inner plate.
Wear values:
Smoothness of friction face........... 0.5 mm (0.02 in)
Inside diameter of outer plate .. 27.05 mm (1.065 in)
Checking individual components of

Remove securing screws (4) and lift off cover (6).
•
Remove O-ring (5).
•
Remove driver (3) and shoes (2) with spring clips.
•
Remove rollers (1).
•
Clean all components.
•
Check shaft sealing rings for damage and cor-
rect seating.
•
Check O-ring (5) for damage and flats.
