Remove hose from air manifold from holder
(arrow).

Position lifter, BMW No. 00 1 570 with
BMW No. 00 1 580, at adapter.
•
Slightly raise vehicle with lifter
•
Install fixture, BMW No. 33 1 531, between left
spring strut and drive swinging arm
•
Remove fastener at bottom of right spring strut at
brake calliper holder

Caution:
Swing drive swinging arm max. 20° on account of
length of hoses and cables
•
Lift C 1 no further than stop: drive swinging arm
swivels down

When installing:
•
Install the cylinder head cover before installing
the drive swinging arm

Caution:
Make sure that gasket and cover are free of oil
•
Install cylinder head cover
e
Caution:
When lowering, make sure that spring struts and
hose of air manifold are correctly positioned.

Note:
Note how the long lever of the parking mechanism
latches. If necessary, move the lever to the drive po-
sition first, and then move it to the park position

Tightening torque:
Cylinder head cover ..................................... 10 Nm
