Note:
To avoid damaging the sealing face, lay an old gas-
ket beneath support plate.
•
Remove grooved ball bearing with puller,
BMW No. 11 7 550.

When installing:
e
Grease seats of shafts.
e
The open side of the bearing must face inward, to-
ward output shaft.

To avoid risk of breakage, support housing by
placing tubular spacer, BMW No. 31 5 652,
underneath bearing seat.
•
Lightly oil outside circumference of grooved ball
bearing and press into cover with mandrel,
D = 40 mm (1.575 in) or 30 mm socket, until
seated.

Shaft seats ........................Klüber paste 46 MR 401
