Replacing BMS control unit

– Open the seat.
– Remove the backrest.
– Remove the rear stowage compartment.

Disconnect plug (arrow) by pulling the red latch
up while pulling the plug to the right.
•
Remove fasteners (arrows) securing the BMS
control unit.
•
Remove the BMS control unit.
When installing:
•
Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure.

Tightening torques:
Fasteners for BMS control unit ....................... 5 Nm

Replacing starter motor

Caution:
Disconnect ground lead from battery and insulate.
•
Remove fasteners securing intake air silencer to
rear mudguard.
•
Remove fasteners securing rear mudguard.

•
Unclip the breather hose for the intake air silenc-
er from the secondary swinging arm.
•
Remove the fasteners securing the air filter hous-
ing to the drive swinging arm.
•
Disconnect plus (+) and minus (-) cables (arrows)
from starter.
•
Push the intake air silencer up and to the right
and pull the cover for the rear mudguard over the
starter.
•
Pull the starter out of the guide.

Note:
Grease the pinion and oil the O-ring before reinstall-
ing.

Tightening torques:
Starter motor to engine ................................ 10 Nm
