Rear brake

Caution:
Do not separate the brake calliper halves.
Remove fastener (1) from bottom of spring strut
and tie the spring strut up out of the way.

Caution:
Avoid damaging or scratching the brake calliper; if
necessary mask off the brake calliper.

Use a crowbar to press the brake calliper against
the brake disc to force back the brake pads and
piston.

Note:
If the brake pads/piston cannot be forced back in
this way, there may be some other fault in the brake
system.
Remove the split-pin keeper (1) from retaining
pin (2).

Remove retaining pin (2) using pliers,

Lift out the brake pads toward the rear.
When installing:
Installation is the reverse of the removal proce-
dure: pay particular attention to the following.

Caution:
Do not damage the brake pads when installing.
Use a long-nosed punch to install the retaining
pin.
Check the function of the brake system.

Caution:
The fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir must be at
the "MAX" mark after the brake pads have been
changed. It is not possible to check the maximum fill
level at the inspection glass. For details of the cor-
