A.11 Before transporting
A.11.1 Inserting the transport lock
Before inserting the transport lock the mirror unit and the illumination unit must be moved
into transport position.
Switch on the WideTEK A2 with the green stand-by button. The device now checks and
initializes all components. The mirror unit and the illumination unit are moved into the start
position. After completing the start process the display shows READY TO SCAN.
Switch off the flatbed scanner now by the green stand-by button. The mirror unit and the
illumination unit will be moved into the transport position (left stop).
Note: Do the following steps with the assistance of a second person. This will avoid
damages to the scanner.
One person slowly lifts up the scanner at the connectors side (right side of the housing,
see Picture 1), while the second person stabilizes the device on the opposite side against
shifting.
Picture 12: Lift up the flatbed scanner and stabilize it against shifting
Hint: If the mirror unit and the illumination unit do not move to the transport position
because of an error, lift up the scanner - as described above – and knock carefully
on the connectors side. The mirror unit and the illumination unit will slide slowly into
the transport position because of their own weight.
