Standard and Duration Based Billing Plans

You can define two types of billing plans:
• Normal billing plans: a standard billing plan, where time "X" = period "Y".
• Duration-based billing plans: allows you to create a billing plan that is similar to a prepaid calling card. Users
are allowed online on a time "X" over period "Y" basis. For example, 8 hours to be used over 5 days.
You can define multiple billing plans with different time units at the same time (for example, you can define one billing
plan that charges by the hour, and another billing plan that charges per day). Normal billing plans can be used
concurrently with duration-based billing plans. For example:
• Plan A: 24 hours, 256 Kbit/s downstream, 128 Kbits/s upstream, public IP address, $15 charge
• Plan B: 8 hours to be used over 5 days, 512 Kbit/s downstream, 256 Kbits/s upstream, private IP address, $35
charge
• Plan C: 1 week, 1 Mbit/s downstream, 1 Mbit/s upstream, public IP address, $99 charge
Follow these steps to configure the billing plans:
1. Login to the AP's Web browser interface.
2. Click Subscriber > Billing > Options.
3. Configure the messages that will appear on the login screen where new users select a billing plan, as shown
in the following example (without the logo image).

• Edit the Introduction Message.
— The default Introduction Message is "Please Choose from the following plans."
• Edit the Offer Message.
— The default Offer Message is "How many days of Internet access would you like to purchase?"
• Edit Policy Message.
— The default Policy Message is "Contact your service provider with questions."

4. Define the minimum units of access that subscribers must purchase:
• Min Minutes: the default is 1.
