3. Assume Zone 5 is the Main Entrance Door and code this zone as EXIT/ENTRY. (The
Entry/Exit Delay for this zone must be adequate for the user to enter the main door, pass
through the lobby, and enter their office to disarm the system from their keypad.)
4. Provide User 1 with access to partitions 1, 2, and 8.
5. Provide User 2 with access to partitions 1 and 8.
6. Provide User 3 has access to partitions 2 and 8.
With this programming in the system and the system armed, when User 2 enters through
the main entrance and into office 1 to disarm the system, the disarming of partition 1 will
also disarm partition 8 and partition 2 will remain in an armed state. With the system
armed, when User 3 enters through the main entrance and into office 2 to disarm the system,
the disarming of partition 2 will also disarm partition 8 and partition 1 will remain in an
armed state.
When the first user exits the building and arms their partition, only their partition will be
armed because the other office is still disarmed. When the last user exits and arms their
partition, partition 8 will also arm.
If a partitioned or double area installation is configured, UL requires that the following installation
requirements be observed.
1. All partitions or areas must be owned and managed by the same person(s).
2. All partitions or areas must be part of one building at one street address.

3. The audible alarm device(s) must be placed where it/they can be heard in all partitions or
areas.
4. The control cabinet itself must be tamper protected and connected to a 24-hour type zone so
that any unauthorized access to the control cabinet will cause an alarm.
