Print-Quality Defect Definitions

The following table lists the print-quality defect corrective procedure, their
definition, and the page where each corrective procedure is provided.
Defect
Light Image
The overall image density is too light.
Dark or Black Image The entire image area is black.
Uneven Density
Print Density is uneven between the left and
right sides.
Background
Light or gray dusting contamination appears on
all or most of the page.
Ghost (1)
There is ghosting at 75.5 mm intervals from the
OPC Drum.
Ghost (2)
There is ghosting at 75.5 mm intervals on the
whole print.
Ghost (3)
There is ghosting at 62.8 mm and 77.6 mm
intervals.
Ghost (4)
Vertical White Line
There are faded or completely non-printed lines
along the page of the paper travel from the
leading edge to the trailing edge.
Vertical Black Line
There are faded or black lines along the page in
and Band
the direction of the paper travel from the leading
edge to the trailing edge.
Horizontal Black
There are black lines running parallel with the

leading edge of the print.
Black/White Spot
The toner image is not completely fused to the
paper. The image easily rubs off.
Stains on the front
