To Program an Extension to Receive Call Waiting Tones
1.
From the programming extension, select the PROGRAM key.
2.
Press the Scroll Down key (î) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3.
Select "System Programming".
4.
Enter the System Programming Password and select "Extensions".
5.
Press the Scroll Down key (î) until "Tone Protect" is displayed.
6.
Select "Tone Protect".
7.
Select the extensions you wish to allow receive Call Waiting tones. A "◊" is displayed beside those
extensions allowed to receive Call Waiting tones, and a "♦" is displayed beside those extensions protected
against receiving Call Waiting tones. By default, all extensions will have a "♦" displayed, no extensions are
presented with call waiting tone.
To Protect Digital Telephone Sets against Paging Announcements
The default is that all ECX 1000 and ECX 2000 telephone sets can be paged. You can page-protect each
telephone set to prevent it from being paged from either announcements or single extension page calls.

From the Programming extension, press the PROGRAM key
2.
Press the Scroll Down key (î) until "System Programming" is displayed
3.
Select "System Programming".
4.
Enter the System Programming Password and select "Extensions".
5.
Select "Page Protection".
6.
Select the extensions you wish to protect. A "♦" will be displayed beside protected extensions.
To Program those Extensions that can Operate the Doorstrike
1.
From the Programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2.
Press the Scroll Down key (î) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3.
Select "System Programming".
4.
Enter the System Programming password and select "Extensions".
5.
Press the Scroll Down key (î) until "Open Door Restriction" is displayed.
6.
Select "Open Door Restriction".
7.
Select which extensions are restricted from opening the door. The extensions restricted from operating the
Doorstrike will be indicated with a "♦".
NOTE: By default, all extensions are unable to open the door.
To Set up Extensions with an Individual Caller ID List
You can program up to 40 extensions to store ten numbers each. Each of these extensions will have a separate
record of calls that ring on CO lines programmed to ring their extensions only.

From the programming extension, press the PROGRAM key.
2.
Press the Scroll Down key (î) until "System Programming" is displayed.
3.
Select "System Programming".
4.
Enter the System Programming Password and select "Extensions".
5.
Press the Scroll Down key (î) until "Individual Caller ID Lists" is displayed.
6.
Select "Individual Caller ID Lists".
7.
Select the extensions that you wish to have an individual Caller ID List. The extensions that will have a
Caller ID List will have a "♦" displayed beside them.
To Allow Extensions to use System Speed-Dial Numbers to Override Call Restrictions
You can allow extensions to dial numbers entered in the System Speed-Dial list, which they are restricted from
dialing directly. For example, these could be numbers that extensions in Classes 2, 3 or 4 cannot dial directly.
Entering these numbers into the System Speed-Dial list and activating this feature on the extensions allows the
restricted extensions to access these numbers.
By default, this feature is not activated on any extension.
