Installation Restrictions
Workstation Hardware Installation
This chapter discusses procedures for performing an out-of-box hardware
installation of the NCR 7448 Workstation hardware.
Before installing the NCR 7448 Workstation read and follow the guidelines in
the site preparation manual, NCR 7448 Workstation Site Preparation,
(B005-0000-1201) and the wiring guide, NCR Workstation and Peripherals AC
Wiring Guide, (BST0-2115-53).
Install the NCR 7448 Workstation near an electrical outlet that is easily
accessible. Use the power cord as a power disconnect device.
Do not permit any object to rest on the power cord. Do not locate the NCR 7448
Workstation where the power cord can be walked on.
Use a grounding strap or touch a grounded metal object to discharge any static
electricity from your body before servicing the NCR 7448 Workstation.
Warning: DO NOT connect or disconnect the transaction printer while the
workstation is powered on. This can result in system or printer damage.
Caution: This unit contains hazardous voltages and should only be serviced by
qualified service personnel.
