Chapter 5: Crisis Recovery
System Requirements
In order to restore the Operating System, you need to build the following
system:
Hardware:
A Server PC
•
Hard Disk with more than 10M byte free space for Windows NT or more
than 400M byte* for Windows 2000
•
CD-ROM Drive
•
Ethernet LAN Adapter
•
Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3 or later
•
Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 1
* 400M byte free space is necessary to copy the Windows 98 ghost image to
hard disk.
NCR 7448 Workstation
This is the target NCR 7448 Workstation which you want to have the Operating
System restored to.
•
PS/2 Keyboard or USB Keyboard
Caution: PS/2 Keyboard and USB Keyboard can't be used at the same time. If
you use USB Keyboard disconnect PS/2 Keyboard.
Note: It is possible to install software with the 176-key Micromotion
Keyboard or the 80-key Conventional Keyboard; however, the PS/2 keyboard
or the USB keyboard is necessary when you perform BIOS Setup or need to use
special characters for such settings as Computer Name, Workgroup, and
Domain.
Note: If your workstation has the 2x20 Operator Display you need to switch
a LCD Operator Display for the Crisis Recovery Operation.
