Appendix A: BIOS
All descriptors and columns on 2x20 Operator Display will be flashed, if the
NCR 7448 Workstation performs the PXE PROM Boot successfully.
Note*5: Some NCR 7448 Workstations have the different menu order from the sample
diagram. If you select either "Diskette Drive" or "Hard Drive" menu, the NCR
7448 Workstation will run System Setup Program. In that case, start all over
again and press Down Allow key ONCE (instead of TWICE).
6. Download New BIOS Image
Wait at least 20-25 seconds. You are now in the PXE PROM Boot mode. Press
any key to download new BIOS Image.
7. Turn Off and On NCR 7448 Workstation with EX-Position
Wait at least 30 seconds to finish updating the BIOS. Turn off the NCR 7448
Workstation by pressing power switch. After power LED turned off, turn on the
NCR 7448 Workstation by pressing power switch.
8. Report System Setting
To make sure that the NCR 7448 BIOS has been updated by network boot,
make the System Setting Report by following the procedures below.
1. Press '1' to select the SYSTEM SETTING Menu.
2. Press '1' to make the SYSTEM SETTING REPORT.
3. Press '0' to return to the SYSTEM SETTING Menu.
4. Press '0' to return to the MAIN Menu.
The POS Printer connected to the NCR 7448 Workstation will print out the
System Setting Report. This report contains the version and date of the newly
installed 7448 BIOS.
