Degradation Function

The degradation function disconnects (degrades) a faulty component if a hardware failure occurs. To continue
operation, it configures the system with the remaining hardware resources. The system must be restarted when the
degradation function is executed.
System operation can be resumed immediately without a prolonged system failure because the system is started
with the faulty component disconnected.
Immediate degradation
Immediate degradation is degradation without a system reset or restart.
Degradation reservation
Degradation reservation schedules the degradation of a certain hardware resource at the next system startup or the
next partition startup with the MMB firmware. The MMB automatically disconnects the hardware that will most
likely fail at the next reboot.
