All the switching hubs for the management LAN, for the LAN in the cabinet, and for the BMC video redirection/
storage LAN are built into the MMB unit.
2.6.4

External ports of the MMB

The MMB includes four RJ-45 connectors as external ports. These ports are USER port#0, USER port#1, the CE
port, and the REMCS port.
The external ports of the MMB are described below.
- USER ports ( #0 and #1 ports on the MMB )
These LAN ports are used to connect an MMB operation terminal for a user to the MMB. The user can use
a Web browser from the MMB operation terminal to communicate with the MMB firmware and operate and
manage the PRIMEQUEST 1000 series server. A USER port can be duplicated. The ports support 1000Base-
T.
- REMCS port ([REMOTE] port on the MMB)
The REMCS port is used for a connection (Internet, P-P, or site server connection) to the REMCS
Center by REMCS. The port supports 100Base-TX.
- CE port ([LOCAL] port on the MMB)
The CE port is used by a field engineer to install or repair the PRIMEQUEST 1000 series server. This is a
LAN port for a connection to the field engineer's terminal (FST: Field Support Tool).
