CHAPTER 5 Partitioning
If no Home SB isexplicitly set in the configuration, the first SB incorporated in the partitionis automatically set as
the Home SB.
If the Home SB isdeleted, the SB that is configured in the partition, has not degraded, and hasthe smallest physical
number is automatically set as the Home SB.
To find out which SB is the Home SB, perform a check with the MMB Web-UI.
The setting of the Home SB during a SB degradation/Reserved SB operation is as follows.
- If the Home SB is degraded, the SB with the smallest number among the remaining SBs becomes the Home
SB.
- If any SB other than the Home SB is degraded, the Home SB is not changed.
- In Home SB switching to the Reserved SB, the SB with the smallest number among the Reserved SBs becomes
the Home SB.
Home SB function
Unlike the other SBs, the following functions are enabled on the Home SB.
- Legacy I/O (ICH)
The USB port and the VGA port are available only on the Home SB because the Legacy I/O function is
enabled.
- Reference clock source
The clock source of the Home SB becomes the clock source in the partition.
