PRIMEQUEST 1000 Series General Description
CHAPTER 5 Partitioning
5.2.1
Partition granularity
Partition granularity refers to the smallest unit of the components making up a partition. The names that indicate
granularity include SB, LIOB, LGSPB, SAS disk unit/SAS array disk unit, and LPCI_Box. The following table
lists the partition granularity of the components that make up a partition.

SB partition granularity
The partition granularity of the SB is one physical SB.
I/O partition granularity
The partition granularity of the IOB is called LIOB. An LIOB is one physical IOB divided in two. There are four
types: LIOB_0A, LIOB_0B, LIOB_1A, and LIOB_1B.
The partition granularity of the GSPB is called LGSPB. An LGSPB is one physical GSPB divided in two. There
are four types: LGSPB_0A, LGSPB_0B, LGSPB_1A, and LGSPB_1B.
The PRIMEQUEST 1000 series can set both an LIOB and LGSPB to a partition granularity of I/O separately.
