Configuration Options via Command Line (Cont.)
Configure STB/Output Assignments
This option enables you to reconfigure STB/output assignments. Note that each STB can
only be assigned one output stream (DIRECTV) or one pair of streams (DISH Network). If
you remap an existing stream assignment to another STB X-Port, the initial assignment will
be disconnected.
For example: If STB 1 is currently streaming on output 1, and STB 2 is remapped so that it
is streaming on output 1, the initial STB 1 assignment will be disconnected. If all STBs are
currently assigned to output streams, STB 1 will now be assigned the output that was
previously assigned to STB 2. If STB 2 initially had "no connection" status before it was
remapped to output 1, STB 1 will now have "no connection" status.
If you wish to remap an existing stream or pair of streams to another STB, it is recommended
that you first modify the output assignment of the stream in question to "no connection" before
you reassign the stream as required.
1. At the STB Command > prompt, type output and press Enter.
2. (Dual tuner STB only) At the Enter tuner number (1 or 2) [1]> prompt, either
press Enter to accept the default value in square brackets, or type the appropriate tuner
number and press Enter.
3. At the Enter output slot number (1-8 or 0 for no connect) [slot#]>
prompt, either:
• Press Enter to accept the default (slot#) value in brackets.
• Type 0 and press Enter to specify "no connection."
• Type in a slot number (1–8) and press Enter to remap the output stream to a different
STB/X-Port.
The system will display confirmation, for example:
Output slot remapped. STB is now streaming on output 2
Note: You can run the "monitor" command, if desired, to review the system settings. Refer to
"Monitor the System" on the previous page for further information.
Power the STB On or Off
These commands enable you to power ON the STB from standby mode or power OFF the
STB to standby mode.
At the STB Command > prompt, either:
• Type on and press Enter to power ON the STB from standby. The system will display
confirmation, for example:
Powering on STB-1: OK
• Type off and press Enter to power OFF the STB, i.e., to switch the STB to standby. The
system will display confirmation, for example:
Powering off STB-1: OK
