Chapter 2: Service Error Codes
##340 [ TX/RX ] Home position error
Cause
• There is foreign matter in the carriage as-
sembly.
• The carriage belt is displaced.
• The carriage motor does not move.
• The home position sensor is faulty, and
cannot detect the position of the carriage.
• The BJ controller is faulty, and cannot de-
tect the position of the carriage.
• The system control board is faulty.
Remedy
• Remove the foreign matter from the car-
riage assembly.
• Attach the carriage belt correctly.
• Turn off and then on the power.
• Replace the carriage motor.
• Replace the PCB that includes the motor
driver IC.
• Turn off and then on the power.
• Replace the carriage cable to which the
home position sensor is mounted (or the
unit that includes the carriage cable).
• Turn off and then on the power.
• Replace the PCB that includes the BJ con-
troller.
• Replace the system control board.
