Is the separation roller deformed
or worn?
Checks
Turn off the power while copy
paper is moving through the
feeding assembly. At this time, is
the copy paper wrinkled? Or, is it
moving askew?
Try fresh copy paper. Is the
problem corrected?
Is the paper of a type
recommended by Canon?
Is the paper guide soiled with
toner?
Is the lower roller pressure (nip)
within specification?

Action
Replace the separation
roller.
Replace the spring used
to pull the separation
roller. Change the
hooking position of the
spring.
Action
Check the pick-up
assembly. Check the
registration roller.
The copy paper may be
moist; advise the user
on the correct method of
storage.
Advise the user to use
recommended paper.
Clean it with solvent.
Make adjustments.
Try replacing the upper
and lower rollers one
after the other.
