1 Is the separation roller deformed or
worn?
Step Check
1 Turn off the power while paper is
moving through the feeding
assembly. Is the paper wrinkled?
Or, is it moving askew?
2 Try fresh paper. Is the problem
corrected?
3 Is the paper of a type recommended
by Canon?
4 Is the inlet guide soiled with toner?
5 Is the upper/lower roller scratched
or deformed?

YES Replace the separation
roller.
NO Check the torque limiter.
Yes/No
YES Check the pick-up
assembly. Check the
registration roller.
YES The paper may be moist.
Instruct the user on the
correct method of
storing paper.
NO Advise the user to use
recommended paper.
YES Clean it with solvent.
YES Replace the fixing roller.
NO Check the lower roller
pressure; if the result is
not good, replace the
fixing assembly.
