NOTE: Most components also have a serial number ID label attached to the
component body.
J-EX4200 switches have serial number ID labels located on the rear panel of the chassis
(see Figure 64 on page 166).

The power supplies, fan trays, and uplink modules installed in J-EX Series switches are
field-replaceable units (FRUs).
For each of these FRUs, you must remove the FRU from the switch chassis to see the
FRU's serial number ID label.
Power Supply—The serial number ID label is on the top of the power supply. See
"Removing a Power Supply from a J-EX4200 Switch" on page 140.
Fan tray—The serial number ID label is on the back of the fan tray. See "Removing a
Fan Tray from a J-EX4200 Switch" on page 141.
Uplink module—The serial number ID label is on the circuit board. See "Removing an
Uplink Module from a J-EX4200 Switch" on page 142.
If you are returning a J-EX4200 switch or component for repair or replacement, pack the
item as described in this topic.
