Chapter 4 Configuring the Data Interfaces

Step 1
Enter enable mode.
Enter the password.
You know you have entered enable mode when the prompt
changes to

Step 2 Enter global configuration mode.

Step 3 Enable routing protocols as required for your global
configuration.
Step 4 Enter interface configuration mode.
You know you have entered interface configuration mode
when the prompt changes to
Step 5 Assign an IP address and subnet mask to the interface.
Step 6 Exit to global configuration mode.
If your Catalyst 4224 has more than one Fast Ethernet
interface that you need to configure, repeat Step 4 through
Step 6.
Step 7 When you finish configuring interfaces, return to enable
mode.
