Sending Alerts and Incident Notifications
A Cisco Systems MARS alert action is a signal transmitted to people or devices as notification that a
MARS rule has fired, and that an incident has been logged. Alert actions can only be configured through
the Action parameter of a rule. An alert action determines which alert notification types are sent to which
MARS user accounts or user groups. MARS can transmit alerts by the methods listed in
Table
22-1.
